11/6, The Asylum Club Presents A Haiti Fundraiser w/ Eyes Wide
Posted by Johnny Chadwick on 11/04 at 05:18 PM
Who: Eyes Wide, Nothing to Prove Russel Dauberman
When: 11/06/11 at 7PM
Where: West Halls Dorm Study Area, Penn State University
This Sunday evening (11/6/11), Penn State club The Asylum will be opening the doors to the West Halls dormitory study area for a concert to benefit Haiti.
This local show will present three acts: Russell Dauberman, Nothing To Prove, and Eyes Wide. Doors will open around 7:00 PM and will start with opening acts Nothing To Prove and Russell Dauberman performing some acoustic stylings. After that is said and done, Altoona natives Eyes Wide will set up their amps and skins to close out the show.
The indie punk four piece, Eyes Wide, brings me back to a time when Long Island alone produced more bands than New Jersey. Think Taking Back Sunday before they release Tell All Your Friends, and when Jesse Lacey played bass. Then add a dash of You Me At Six into the melodies. They have a unique sound when compared to today’s modern indie, with melodic to raw raspy vocals all wrapped around chants and harmonies. Eyes Wide holds to original punk progressions with fun vocals that will be sure to have you leaving with a smile.
Come out Sunday night before we begin counting down the days to Thanksgiving break and donate some money to a great cause. The music and crowds will be worth it. Also be sure to head over to The LION 90.7FM table and hang out with some of your favorite DJ’s!
