2013 Will Be Ellie Goulding’s Year

Ellie Goulding arguably had one of the biggest breakout years music saw in 2012.  Her single “Lights” finally began climbing the Billboard Hot 100 in August 2012 after spending more than enough time hovering around the bottom of the chart since it’s United States release in May of 2011.  It seems as though it’s been everywhere ever since.

The next step that saw Goulding continue her process to became a main stay was the release of her second album Halcyon on October 5, 2012 and with it, the first single off the album, “Anything Could Happen.” “Anything Could Happen” has already been featured in Beats by Dr. Dre commercials and is seeing good rotation on major radio stations.

But with positive reviews and more than one catchy song. Other standout tracks like “Figure 8” and “Atlantis” only make the release stronger.  I feel Halcyon has a lot of success waiting in its future.  Goulding’s sound can appeal to multiple genres, whether it’s dance, pop or indie it seems as though Goulding is an artist many people can find agreeable.
