House Show, Redux: La Blanca Casa, 10/21, 8PM
Posted by Marcus Correll on 10/20 at 01:46 PM
Tomorrow night (10/21), La Blanca Casa at 221 E Park Avenue will play host to another house show called Such Gold. This time it features three different bands. A few weeks ago the same house, along with on-campus groups the Songwriter’s Club and The Asylum, put on an acoustic show featuring Run-For-Cover Records artist, Koji.
This show will be different. It will be featuring full bands and sound equipment as opposed to the last unplugged show.
The only rules to the show, according to the Facebook event page is “Invite your friends and if you come, respect the house and don’t be a ___” (you can read the rest for yourself).
The bands will play as follows:
Like Wild-The opener, a one-man band from Lancaster, PA with a new album called “The San Diego Sessions.”
Settle for Less-A pop-punk band from Cherry Hill, NJ signed to Either/Or Records and is touring off its newest EP “Greetings.”
Such Gold-The headlining band from Rochester, NY signed to 6131 Records touring off its recently released “Pedestals” EP.
No matter your preferences are in music or environment, there is one thing for sure: these house shows are going to be a thing to look back on and remember as some of the pivotal moments of college. You’re not stuck in a stuffy underground venue nor a cramped mosh pit, but sitting on the floors of someone’s house, who you barely know, enjoying music in the rawest form possible.
When: 10/21, 8PM
Where: La Blanca Casa, 221 E. Park Ave., State College, PA

Bio: I am a junior at the Pennsylvania State University majoring in journalism with hopes of achieving a writing position for a prominent music magazine. I am an avid concert goer and enjoy rock climbing, golfing and hanging with my friends. My top bands right now are Blink-182 (always a top choice), Man Overboard, Manchester Orchestra and Vampire Weekend.
