If you’ve been bumping Jay-Z from your speakers since the days of “Big Pimpin,” or even if you just recently became a fan after listening to Magna Carta Holy Grail, you’ll be thrilled to know that he will be making his mark at the Bryce Jordan Center on Thursday, January 31st! According to the Bryce Jordan Center, Jay-Z will be ending his North American Magna Carter Tour right here in Happy Valley. Tickets will go on sale on Thursday, September 12th at 11 a.m. Tickets will be available through http://www.LiveNation.com, http://www.bjc.psu.edu, http://www.Ticketmaster.com, the Bryce Jordan Center Ticket Office, the Eisenhower Auditorium, the Penn State Downtown Theatre, the Altoona Campus Ticket Office or by calling 800-745-3000.

Jay-Z announced this tour on Friday, September 6th, which also happened to be the same day Kanye West announced his first solo tour in five years. A little musical rivalry? It could be. Both Jay-Z and Kanye released their albums around the same time this summer, in the same way their tours will coincide. However, the two collaborated on Watch the Throne, a 2011 released album. The album earned these moguls seven Grammy nominations, 436,000 albums sold during the first week, a number one debut on the U.S. Billboard 200 chart and a platinum certification (see more here).

This concert is sure to start off the spring semester’s concert line-up with a bang! Get your money ready, and have your student ID handy. Ticket prices start at $17.50, and only two ticket purchases per person are allowed with a Student ID.
