Pennharmonics to Play Noontime Concert Series This Friday
Posted by Stephen Smith on 03/03 at 11:36 AM
This Friday, the SPA Noontime Concert Series will showcase the Pennharmonics. As their website proclaims, the Pennharmonics are “Penn State’s premier co-ed a Cappella group,” in addition to being “The Sexiest a Cappella Group in the Universe…”
The group, founded in 1993, sings a broad range of songs, from old favorites like Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believing” to newer hits like Owl City’s “Fireflies.” They even dip into the YouTube autotune genre with “The Bed Intruder Song.” Their ability to perform pop, rock, and rap songs with no instrumentation makes them a truly unique act within the State College music scene.
They will display their vocal talent for free this Friday, March 4th, at noon in the HUB. Later in the year, the Pennharmonics will have a CD release party on Saturday, March 19th, as well as an end-of-the-year concert on Saturday, April 23rd.
So come out this weekend and support Penn State’s vocal and local a Cappella group!
