Ted McCloskey and the Hi-Fi’s: Friday, September 24th.

When it comes to well-established professional musicians that have stayed loyal to the State College music scene, few have the experience and dedication of Ted McCloskey.
For almost a decade, Ted has been releasing solo albums (his newest, One Night Bland, is his fifth studio release), scoring documentaries (including the nationally-aired PBS film Window to the Sea) and playing gigs over 300 nights a year.
Most recently, McCloskey has assembled an all-star trio dubbed Ted McCloskey and the Hi-Fi’s. The band has been playing many local bars in the State College area, most notably a weekly Friday night slot at the Phyrst. The band tends to progress away from McCloskey’s singer-songwriter roots and instead entertains crowds with a funky variety of tight covers and soaring guitar work. If you have yet to experience who has been referred to as the “King of State College music”, be sure to check out Ted McCloskey and the Hi-Fi’s this Friday.
