The Inevitable

The inevitable finally happened. Late blight has taken most of our tomatoes.
There are still a few left but by next week both the early and late patch will be gone.
Luckily not everyone has had problems with this dreaded disease so supplies of tomatoes from TOG will continue and prices are coming down to reflect the seasonal glut.
We are also fortunate that our potatoes seemed to avoid the blight and we have a bumper crop of many varieties. This year we planted a big patch of Russet Potatoes along with the usual Gold and Fingerling and they are beautiful. The French Fingerling are also producing well with many as large as a standard potato. The skin is not as smooth as I like it but the gold flesh has a distinctive pink marbling.
Also in excellent supply:
Red Beets, Chioggia Beets, Baby Mixed Beets, Baby Red Beets
Carrots – Standard Orange
Mixed Color Carrots – Yellow, White, Purple, Red
Hot Peppers – Anaheim, Poblano, Serrano, Jalapeno, Padrone, Mixed Varieties
Mini Sweet Peppers
Red and Yellow Cippolini Onions
Red French Shallots
Garlic
