Moroccan Vegetable Stew
Posted by Emily Wiley on 12/10 at 12:17 PM
Warm up this wintry weekend with a bowl of spicy Moroccan vegetable stew. It combines seasonal root vegetables with cinnamon, cumin, and paprika and a splash of sweet coconut milk at the end. The list of ingredients may seem long, but this soup couldn’t be simpler or more satisfying.

My Hero Zero: Zero
Posted by Aaron Wynne on 12/09 at 07:25 PM
When My Hero Zero took stage last Thursday, I found myself in a concerning situation. The band opened with a cover of “This Love,” and I sighed at the probable sight of a band fallen into the fallacious trend of hip-hop covers. When the second song started, it occurred to me that this could be something even more diabolical. “Sweet Caroline” should NEVER be the second song in a set-list. Don’t get me wrong, the song emanates a great atmosphere, but it is one best reserved for the end of a night, not the beginning.

Tickets cost $5 for Penn State students (with ID) and $10 for non-Penn State students. Tickets may be purchased in the HUB today until 2pm, or at the door if tickets are still available.

Into It. Over It. Rocked It
Posted by Marcus Correll on 12/06 at 04:16 PM
Last Tuesday Penn State’s Asylum club put on another house show at La Casa Blanca, 221 E. Park Ave.
Supported by local acts, the show kicked off around 9pm with Sean Kapy and Edward Longo. Both artists praised the crowd with heartfelt “thank yous.”
After the State College musicians performed, Last Full Measure, another Pennsylvania band, played. Last Full Measure is Brendan Walsleben’s project and is currently touring and gathering fans. While Walsleben is fairly new to the music scene, his talent and vocal range made for an impressive musical package. He is working on a future full-length that should be available sometime next year.
La Casa Blanca, no stranger to diverse bands, was warmed up and ready for the final show of the night: Into It. Over It. This one-person band is more of a pop-punk act. Playing with as much soul as exuberantly possible, Evan Thomas Weiss—the face behind Into It. Over It.—serenaded those in attendance.
