Some Radio & TV Highlights to Catch

Radio Feature:  “Expedition to Paternoville” – Fri. at 7:33am and 8:33am –  In a twist on a theme, Cynthia Berger produces a story about “Sports That ARE Football.” Berger follows a Penn State anthropologist as he blazes a trail to the tribal village of Paternoville, to study the odd customs of the fierce and fun-loving natives.

TV Special:  AMERICAN EXPERIENCE – “Civilian Conservation Corps” – Monday, 9pm – The story of the Civilian Conservation Corps, a Depression-era program introduced and championed by President Franklin Roosevelt that worked on two levels: providing employment to those in need of work and restoring America’s natural resources.  Many CCC projects were done in Pennsylvania.

TV Special: BILL COSBY: THE MARK TWAIN PRIZE 2009 – Wednesday, 8pm and repeated at 9:30pm – Bill Cosby receives the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor. The ceremony features clips from his classic shows and tributes from former “Cosby Show” cast mates Phylicia Rashad and Malcom Jamal-Warner, as well as Carl Reiner, Chris Rock, Jerry Seinfeld, Danny Glover, Dick Gregory, Wynton Marsalis, Rita Moreno, Willie Nelson, Sinbad, Len Chandler, James dePriest and Jimmy Heath. From the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C.
