WPSU readies for Our Town: Punxsy II
Posted by Jessica on 08/03 at 09:45 AM
It has been more than a decade since WPSU last came to Punxsutawney with the “Our Town” series, and for our 63rd production, we decided that it was high time for an update! Community volunteers are encouraged to join us for a public meeting at the Jackson Theater in the Punxsutawney Community Center on Wednesday, August 10th, at 7pm for a brief training session. Come to the meeting ready with your story ideas—we’ll be signing folks up to be volunteer storytellers to help us capture the Punxsy story.

After the meeting, volunteers will collect video and photos to illustrate their stories. Then, on Sunday August 21st, all of the storytellers will gather at the Weather Discovery Center to be interviewed about their story on camera. We’ll bring all of the footage and interviews back to WPSU where we will put it all together for the live broadcast in mid-October.
We are excited to learn all that there is to know about the area. From its rich history, to the strong community service organizations, and yes, even to the Prognosticator of Prognosticators, there are no shortages of great tales to tell in Punxsy!
We’re looking forward to hearing your ideas at the meeting!
