Alzheimer’s movie “schism” at The State Theatre

Lyons Den Productions is proud to announce two upcoming State College, Pennsylvania screenings of “schism”, their award-winning independent film about Alzheimer’s, aging, and assisted living. “Schism” will be the featured film at Summer Show 2009, a live music, film, and performing arts festival. Showings are Friday July 3rd and Saturday July 11th at noon at The State Theatre in downtown State College. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Fisher Center for Alzheimer’s Research. A short film competition and reception will be held following both screenings.

ABOUT SCHISM - A docu-drama, “schism” tells the story of a man’s descent into Alzheimer’s dementia. The three year production was shot at several locations in Erie Pennsylvania including Brevillier Village, an operational nursing facility. Past screenings include the Guelcher Film Series, Zero Film Festival Los Angeles (where it won the “Purple Heart Award”), Lancaster Area Film Festival, Edinboro Film Series, and classrooms across the country. “Schism” was written and directed by John C. Lyons, produced by Dorota Swies and John C. Lyons, and stars Terry T. Smith, Don Kirsch, and Ruth Thoma Andrews.
