Boalsburg heritage Birthday Festival
Fairs & Festivals
Noon to 4 pm
The Boalsburg Heritage Birthday Festival from Noon to 4 pm in the village square on Sunday, October 10, will feature crafts, food and more appearances by historical characters to celebrate the village’s birth on October 10, 1808, and Columbus’ historic arrival in the New World on October 12, 1492.
The village festival will feature an extraordinary collection of traditional American music by the award-winning Tussey Mountain Moonshiners (bluegrass and folk), fiddler Bruce Young (19th century American music) and keyboardist John “JT Blues” Thompson (blues and rock). Thompson will also serve to portray his ancestor Moses Thompson, a founder of Penn State University and owner of the Centre Furnace Mansion, in the historical re-enactment taking place during the festival.
