The annual Celebration of African American Music Festival in the PSU School of Music will be held February 25 – 27, 2010. Concerts will occur at the following times and places:
Thursday, February 25, 12:10 p.m. Bach’s Lunch, Eisenhower Chapel
Thursday, February 25, 6 p.m. Esber Recital Hall, Music Building 1
Friday, February 26, 2:30 p.m., Common Hour, Esber Recital Hall, Music Building 1
Friday, February 26, 6 p.m. Esber Recital Hall, Music Building 1
Saturday, February 27, 1:30 p.m. Worship Hall, Pasquerilla Spiritual Center

Music performed at the Celebration of African American Music Festival will
include works/arrangements by the following composers: William Grant
Still, Ulysses Kay, Scott Joplin, Velvet Brown, Kim Scharnberg, Roland
Carter, Ysaye Barnwell, Moses Hogan and others.

Ensembles participating in these events will include the following:
PSU Tuba/Euphonium Choir, Velvet Brown, conductor
PSU Trombone Choir, Mark Lusk, conductor
PSU University Choir, Anthony Leach, conductor
Oriana Singers, Lynn Drafall, conductor
Graduate Brass Quintet
Euphonium Quartet
Pennsylvania Quintet, Darryl Durran, coordinator
4 the Glory – Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia
Essence of Joy

Solo performances will be presented by the following artists:
Mark Lusk, trombone
Velvet Brown, tuba
Tim Hurtz, oboe
Voice students of Beverly Patton, Mary Saunders, Ted Christopher and Jennifer Trost
