2009 Centre County Down Syndrome Society Buddy Walk is Saturday, October 3 - Tudek Park, State College, PA. Take steps for a brighter tomorrow by joining the Buddy Walk! The 2009 Centre County Down Syndrome Society Buddy Walk will take place on Saturday, October 3 at Tudek Park in State College, PA. Registration will begin at 10 am and the Walk will begin at 11 am, with lunch and entertainment beginning at noon. By participating in the Buddy Walk, you will help make a difference in the lives of individuals with Down syndrome. Each step you take and each dollar you raise will help the Centre County Down Syndrome Society and the National Down Syndrome Society provide important services that enhance the quality of life for individuals with Down syndrome and their families. A picnic lunch provided by Harrison’s Wine Grill (your choice of sandwich plus chips, cookies & beverage) can be purchased in advance for $5 as part of your online registration. The sandwich chioces for children are Peanut butter and jelly on Parker House Roll or Turkey on Parker House roll. For adults, the choices are Balsamic Beef on baguette with blue cheese mayonnaise, Grilled Chicken on baguette with grilled peppers and basil pesto mayonnaise, Turkey breast on baguette with lettuce, tomato and mayo, or Grilled Portabello mushroom on baguette with grilled peppers & basil pesto mayonnaise. Even if you are unable to be in State College for the Buddy Walk, you can still be a virtual walker from anywhere. Or you can simply make a charitable donation to help support the Buddy Walk program and the Centre County Down Syndrome Society.
