Chris Smither

Since his first album in 1970, singer/songwriter Chris Smither has been wowing audiences world wide. He is considered, by many, to be a musician’s musician. His songs have been recorded by some of the best in the business. His good friend, Bonnie Raitt, recorded “Love Me Like A Man” and “I Feel The Same.” His song “Slow Surprise” was recorded by Emmylou Harris for the Horse Whisperer movie soundtrack. The world recognizes his gift of artful lyric writing as his songs continue to be recorded by artists world wide.

Chris Smither has been a mainstay of the festival, coffee house and club circuits around the U.S., Canada and Europe since his performing career began in in the coffeehouses in Boston back in 1966. He has recorded, toured or collaborated with the best of the best in the music business.

His works have been included in numerous compilation projects and books. He is a talented teacher, too. You can participate in one of his sessions at Jorma Kaukonen’s Fur Peace Ranch in Ohio.

With more than a dozen albums and numerous compilations, and four decades of great music, Chris Smither continues to be a driving force in American acoustic music.
