Emerging-Writer-in-Residence
Book Readings
5 p.m.
Casey Wiley, Penn State Altoona’s 2009 Emerging Writer-in-Residence, will read from his work.
Wiley earned his MFA from George Mason University. Specializing in creative nonfiction, he has been published in journals such as Gorilla Dust, Fringe Magazine, Emerson Review, Pindledyboz, and Penddragon Literary and Arts Magazine. Wiley was also selected as a finalist for Glimmertrain’s Short Story Award for New Writers.
The Emerging Writer-in-Residence program was developed so students could have the opportunity to work with an emerging writer and to learn first-hand what it is like to get started in the field. Over the last ten years, students have been able to study with such writers as Deborah Bernhardt, Sharon Wahl, Lee Peterson, and David-Matthew Barnes.
