Elizabeth Alexander, professor of African American studies and English literature at Yale University, will give a public reading followed by a book signing. She has published five books of poems, composed and delivered “Praise Song for the Day” for the inauguration of President Barack Obama, and was awarded a National Endowment for the Arts Fellowship, two Pushcart Prizes, the George Kent Award, and a Guggenheim fellowship. Presented by the Department of English, courtesy of George and Barbara Kelly, and co-sponsored by the Palmer Museum of Art.
*Please be advised that the seating capacity in the Palmer Lipcon auditorium is 150 persons maximum–we are unable to seat guests who arrive once the auditorium is full.
