FACULTY RECITAL TO FEATURE OVER 35 ALUMNI, FACULTY, STUDENTS AND FRIENDS

Mark L. Lusk’s Faculty 47th Recital
Trombone Professor Mark L. Lusk has made it a habit over his 24 years at Penn State to present a recital for the students on the first weekend of classes each semester. During that time these recitals have taken on many shapes and formats. This one is no differrent! After the success of last year’s Swingin’ Sunday, Lusk is presenting a similar program that will include guest alumni and friends, along with faculty and students. The program will include classical music as well as jazz, and will featurre Professor Lusk playing a variety of type of trombones. Trombone Choir versions of the music by Richard Strauss will be lead by guest faculty conductors Christopher Kiver and Gerard Edelstein. A great rhythm section featuring bassist Rob Nairn, guitarist Mac Himes, pianist Arthur Goldstein, and drummer Bobby Leidhecker will support an exciting jazz trombone ensemble featuring alumni and friends. It will be singing. It will be swinging. Get your semester started off right, and don’t miss this exciting program.
