Fall Flora Photo Workshop

Arts and Crafts

10:00am - 1:00pm

Shaver’s Creek is pleased to welcome back photographer and longtime Shaver’s Creek volunteer, Denise Wagner, to share her skills and knowledge about nature photography. On Sunday, September 19th from 10AM – 1PM, join Denise for a Fall Flora Photography Workshop at the Center.
This course is open to any photographer who wishes to learn more about capturing the beauty of flowers. Knowledge of aperture and shutter speed and being familiar with your equipment is helpful but not necessary.
The workshop will begin by going over the basics of equipment, lens choice, and composition techniques. Denise will share some of her own flower images, and discuss how to use a digital camera’s light meter and histogram to achieve well-exposed photographs. After exploring these and other helpful insights, participants will get outside in the gardens of Shaver’s Creek to put what they’ve learned into action with Denise nearby to provide guidance in both plant identification and photographic technique.
To enroll in this program, please call Shaver’s Creek at 863-2000. The workshop is free to members, and $5.00 for non-members. Participants should bring their camera equipment and a brownbag lunch. For information on other upcoming Shaver’s Creek programs, visit http://www.ShaversCreek.org.
