Fire in the Eastern United States

The Penn State Environmental Law Review will sponsor a symposium that will examine fire policy and planning east of the Mississippi.
Stephen J. Pyne, Regents’ Professor at Arizona State University, a former MacArthur Fellow and the author of more than a dozen books on fire and its history will keynote the event. His earliest experience with wildfires was as a member of a fire crew in Grand Canyon National Park. Professor Pyne is a member of the Wildfire Advisory Group for the U.N. International Strategy for Disaster Reduction.
The event will also feature two panel discussions on fire policy and ecology.
