If You Give a Pig a Pancake and Other Story Books Theatreworks USA

Kids & Family

2 p.m.

TheatreworksUSA’s musical revue If You Give a Pig a Pancake and Other Story Books, based on popular children’s literature, features seven stories about issues, themes, and ideas relevant to youngsters. Diary of a Worm follows the earthy adventures of a legless creature. In Fluffy the Classroom Guinea Pig, a pesky flea threatens to derail Fluffy’s entry in the Best Pets Contest. Horace and Morris But Mostly Dolores concerns mice that find it’s difficult to keep a promise to be best friends forever. Young Jeremy Jacob would love to sail the seas as a buccaneer, but in How I Became a Pirate he discovers there’s really no place like home. In the title tale, a bossy pig’s demands frazzle a girl in a lesson about cause and effect. In Lilly’s Big Day, a student saves the day when her teacher’s flower girl gets stage fright. A dragon smashes Princess Elizabeth’s castle, burns her clothes, and kidnaps her prince, but in The Paper Bag Princess she dons a sack and comes to the rescue.
