Immigration: Rights and Wrongs (Research Unplugged)
Lectures
12:00 PM
On October 27, Director of Penn State’s Center for Immigrants’ Rights, Shoba Wadhia, leads a dialogue on Immigration: Rights and Wrongs.
Immigration policy in the United States must address a wide range of economic, humanitarian, and ethical issues. How can we make sense of a topic infused with myths, stereotypes and fear on both sides of the debate? Shoba Wadhia has been deputy director for legal affairs at the National Immigration Forum and was immersed in issues surrounding the creation of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and executive branch policies impacting immigrant communities. Currently Director of the Center for Immigrants’ Rights at Penn State Law, Professor Wadhia will help us understand the nature of this complex debate in the “Post 9-11” world.
Please join us for an informative and thought-provoking discussion on this important topic!
