Lecture: “Vita, Virginia, and the Allure of the East”

Urmila Seshagiri, associate professor of English, University of Tennessee at Knoxville
Virginia Woolf’s novel “Orlando” traces the magical story of a man who becomes a woman and lives through four centuries of English history. Seshagiri will discuss how Vita Sackville-West’s travelogue “Passenger to Teheran” inspired the novel’s comedy as well as its radical experiments with time and space.
