“To Begin the World Anew”: Revolutionary Transformations in the Atlantic World,
1776-1801

How often do we consider the similarities, differences, points of intersection among the disciplines at a particular moment in time?  The 2009-10 Moments of Change multidisciplinary initiative kicks off on Friday, September 11 with a gala opening roundtable featuring Penn State faculty across the arts and humanities.  The roundtable explores the major cultural, artistic, and political transformations of the period 1776-1801.  It provides an opportunity to address the “big picture,” to hit on the major figures and events, and to put assumptions and stereotypes on the table for discussion.
