National Healthcare Decision Day - Advance Directives/Living Will
Community Events
7 pm
If you were incapacitated, would your family members know what type of healthcare intervention you would want? To celebrate National Healthcare Decision Day, Mount Nittany Medical Center will be hosting a free program April 14 on Advance Directives at the Galen & Nancy Dreibelbis Auditorium, Entrance D, 1800 East Park Avenue, State College. The goal of this nationwide initiative is to ensure that all adults with decision-making capacity have both the information and the opportunity to communicate and document their future healthcare decisions. Attendees are invited to stop by the auditorium and there will be a short presentation at 7:00 pm on the purpose of Advance Directives and some of the misconceptions about them, including a common belief that these documents need to be drafted by an attorney. Staff will be available to answer questions and help attendees fill out free Advance Directive forms, including a healthcare power of attorney and a living will. Light refreshments will be served and reservations are not needed. For more information, please call Samantha Rosefsky at 814.231.7000 ext. 6706.
