August 15, 2009 - Applications are now available for this years Mentored Youth Hunt. Deadline for completed application is September 15, 2009 and space is limited to 35 youth - first come, first served! October 4, 2009, Sunday 1-4PM - Youth Pheasant Hunt Safety Day at the Fox Township Sportsmen Club in Kersey. There will be opening for 35 youth from 12-16 years of age. EVERY youth that will participate in the PF Chapter 630 mentored hunt on October 10 MUST participate in this Safety Day with their parent or other adult. Demonstrations will show the difference between pointing and flushing dogs. General hunting safety will be discussed. All the youth will get a chance to shoot trap and work on their aim. Youth guns are available for use during this event as well as the hunt. Fox Township Sportsmen have been a great partner with Pheasant Forever since our Mentored Hunt began. October 10, 2009, Saturday 7AM-4PM - Pheasant Forever Chapter 630 Youth Pheasant Hunt Brandy Camp, PA, just off of SR219. Young boys and girls ages 12-16 and their parent or other adults are paired up with a trained hunting dog and a handler. Many dog handlers have stated this is the best hunting day of the year to see the kids and dogs work together. EVERY child MUST attend the Safety Day on October 4, 2009 to participate.
