Celebrate National Stamp Collecting Month with a visit to the American Philatelic Center, Saturday, October 3, 2009 for a FREE Open House.  Bring collections for an assessment at the Stamps in Your Attic booth, buy current U.S. stamps from the Headsville Post Office on loan from the Smithsonian Museum, tour the historic Match Factory building where the APS makes its home, and enjoy a youth area specially designed for exploring the joys of the hobby.  The hours of the Open House are 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.  Free parking is available at the Philatelic Center located at 100 Match Factory Place, Bellefonte, PA.  Turn off of Rt. 150 onto Phoenix Avenue and follow the parking lot to the back of the complex.  Presentations by stamp experts will be offered in the morning and afternoon with topics including Centre County Postal History, Stamps That Glow, and Air Mail Makes History in Bellefonte.  We are offering a free packet of stamps to all visitors.
