Did you know that some rocks glow in the dark, or under ultraviolet light? Join geologist Dr. Andrew Sicree at 8:00 pm on Saturday, June 6, 2009, at the Blacksmith shop for a fascinating program on unusual visual effects of rocks. Worldwide, there are about 4,000 minerals, and about 600
of them are known to glow under UV light. Often,they glow different colors, depending on the mineral. A fascinating look into the world of geology that you won’t want to miss.
