The September 29, 2010 meeting of the Nittany Labor and Employment Relations Association (LERA) Chapter will present a talk by Robert Chester, Regional Director for the Pittsburgh Region of the National Labor Relations Board.  He will speak on new decisions from the NLRB and how the National Labor Relations Board affects employers in general.

  Bob Chester became Regional Directed for Pittsburgh, PA - Region 6 of the National Labor Relations Board on March 12, 2009.  A career NLRB employee, Mr. Chester had served since 2006 as Regional Director in Minneapolis, MN (Region 18).  Region 6 handles NLRB cases arising in Western Pennsylvania and 26 Counties in West Virginia.
  The NLRB administers and enforces the National Labor Relations Act, a law that applies to most private sector employers, whether or not their employees are represented by a union.  The NLRB investigates and remedies unfair labor practices and conducts secret-ballot elections to determine whether employees desire union representation.

  The meeting will take place Wednesday evening, September 29, 2010, 5:30 at the Atherton Hotel with a cocktail hour, followed by dinner and the talk.
