Robert E. Kingston, chief of the Department of Molecular Biology at Massachusetts General Hospital, vice chair of the Department of Genetics at Harvard University, and vice chair of the Executive Committee on Research at Massachusetts General Hospital, will present the 2009/2010 Robert T. Simpson Memorial Lecture in Molecular Medicine at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, 5 April 2010, in 101 Althouse Laboratory on the Penn State University Park campus.

This free public lecture, titled “Nucleosome Occupancy and Regulation of HOX Gene Expression in Human Embryonic Stem Cell Lineages,” will focus on the role of chromatin — the combination of DNA, RNA, and proteins that make up chromosomes — and gene regulation in the inner workings of stem cells.  The lecture is sponsored by the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology.
