The sixth annual Smoked Country Jam Bluegrass Festival will take place June 18-20 on the Karstetter farm near Loganton. The Pennsylvania Wild’s premier bluegrass festival, Smoked Country Jam was begun in 2004 as a benefit for The Lupus Foundation of PA. Eighteen performers will take the main stage this year, with national performing artists, The Gibson Brothers, Valerie Smith & Liberty Pike, The Doerfels, and The Larkins headlining the event.  A second stage has been added to showcase performances by local bluegrass bands not playing the main stage. The Danny Stewart Jam Tent, also new this year, will run organized bluegrass jam sessions for musicians of every level throughout the festival. Workshops and children’s activities will be offered on Friday and Saturday. Numerous vendors will sell a variety of concessions and merchandise throughout the festival. Primitive festival camping will be available, with all areas of the festival grounds being handicapped accessible. Several ticket levels are available, making the festival an affordable experience for everyone. Information is available on the festival website, http://www.smokedcountryjam.com, or by calling (570) 753-8878.
