Tend and Sustain It Forever

Art & Museum Exhibits

3:30-5:00pm

This workshop highlights the main themes that will be explored throughout the year in our series of programs. The strong connections between the practical, ethical and moral traditions about food in the Hebrew Bible and the Talmud will be featured, as well as the modern movements in American Jewish communities seeking to apply those insights to modern food production, distribution and consumption. Because the broad topic of sustainable agriculture as realized through community engagement with food production is a key focus of TEND AND SUSTAIN IT FOREVER, a speaker from PASA (the Pennsylvania Association for Sustainable Agriculture) will describe the robust system of local farming and many initiatives on-going in central Pennsylvania contributing to change our dependance on industrial agriculture. We in central Pennsylvania are most fortunate to have numerous ways to participate in these efforts as well as vastly improving the quality of our food.
