The Asylum presents Koji and Like Wild

Live Music: All

7 pm

The Asylum presents an acoustic concert showcasing local talent. The program will begin with an open mic session. After local musicians showcase their talent, Like Wild, a musician from Lancaster, Pennsylvania, will take the stage to perform his original music. The last act, Koji from the band Koji on the Roof will perform to close the night with his indie-alternative sound.
So much more than your average singer/song-writer, Koji’s poignant, candid sincerity and profound love for the creation of art in all mediums sets his music ahead of the pack. As both a musical and visual artist, he believes in the importance of building community, and putting forth a positive attitude in the world. Koji draws his inspiration from the countless opportunities he’s been afforded on his many tours to make meaningful connections with new people and places. His brilliantly crafted songs resonate in the hearts of his listeners, and with his ample charm and good humor he wins fans from all audiences.
Koji’s natural talent and consequently well-deserved popularity has seen him play with national acts from many genres, including My Chemical Romance, The Ataris, Bayside, Junior Varsity, Aloha, Koufax, The Plane White T’s, Tokyo Rose, and Joe Lally of Fugazi. Additionally, he has independently recorded, produced, and released two EPs, which sold almost 1,000 copies combined in regional performances alone. Koji’s most recent release was The Seaside Sessions, released February 12, 2010.
Coming from Lancaster, Pennsylvania Like Wild is certainly one of a few. In a music scene congested with hardcore and metal acts, Like Wild (Patrick Hatt) is straying from the path with a raw, folk/alt-country sound. After being in several bands and touring the country, Hatt is now taking the singer-songwriter approach to create the most genuine songs possible. Like Wild is planning to hit the studio in a couple of months to record a debut five-song EP.
