The Bard in Bellefonte

Fairs & Festivals

noon-5pm

Celebrate Shakespeare with the 2nd Annual Bard in Bellefonte - a Shakespeare festival featuring over 30 artisans in free performances with theatre, music & dance.

Make a jester hat, pin the head on Macbeth, have your face painted,  learn to juggle, dance the Pavane or accept the Queen’s Challenge and compete.  Competitions are open to all ages – Come Die Your Most Dramatic Death; Throw Your Best Bard Barbs; and even learn to Flower the Thunder-darting True-penny (compliment someone using Shakespeare’s language).

Families are invited to bring a blanket, pack a picnic and come spend the afternoon making a craft, taking part in competitions, sing-a-longs, dances and talking forsoothly as we bring the Bard to Bellefonte.

The Bard in Bellefonte is supported by the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts, a state agency funded by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the National Endowment for the Arts, a federal agency, through the Local Government Grant program. The Borough of Bellefonte also supported this program through the Local Government Grant program.
