The Nazis’ Deadly Medicine: Looking Back, Thinking Ahead

Lectures

7 p.m.

The panel discussion “The Nazis Deadly Medicine: Looking Back, Thinking Ahead” is the third and final event planned in coordination with the on-going Deadly Medicine: Creating the Master Race exhibition, on display until May 2 in the Robeson Gallery, located on the bookstore level of the HUB-Robeson Center.

The event will feature the three well known scholars historian Sheila Faith Weiss, bioethicist Jonathan H. Marks, and anthropological geneticist Ken Weiss. They will discuss the legacy of eugenics and Nazi medical science and health policy in a conversation moderated by historian Greg Eghigian. Panelists will consider both the historical significance of the events that marked the eugenics movement of the 1930s and 1940s, as well as their relevance to medical and scientific ethics today. Questions and comments from the audience will be welcomed.

“Deadly Medicine: Creating the Master Race” is organized and circulated by the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum. It has been made possible by The Lerner Foundation and Eric F. and Lore Ross.
