The 2010 Pages & Places Book Festival, Scranton’s second annual celebration of books and the city. On Saturday October 2nd, Pages & Places will bring to downtown Scranton 15 nationally and internationally recognized panelists—writers, including Christopher Hitchens, former President of the Rwandan parliament Joseph Seberenzi, Icelandic novelist and original member of the Sugarcubes Bragi Olafsson, and many others who will explore the terrains of history, policy, science, media, and literature. Pages & Places features five panel discussions on issues ranging from the state of feminism to the people and debates that have shaped American civic life to the import of literature in translation.
The festival also feature a Kids Fest and an outdoor Book Expo that includes a Bookpublishers Co-op and public author readings
