The crew that brings you the Folk Show has been thinking for a while about changing up the mix on Saturday Nights. Going forward (starting tonight!) you’ll hear more contemporary sounds in this time slot: a bit more “electricity”,  drumsets,  and the inclusion of songs that move past boundaries that have defined the Folk Show.  The Saturday Night Edition of the Folk Show is still the Folk Show and includes the kinds of songs you’ll hear on other episodes of the Folk Show, but the overall sound of Saturday Night Edition will be a bit more contemporary, a bit more aggressive.

We’re looking forward to what you have to say about the new format.  Whether you love it,  hate it, or can’t hear much difference,  we’d love to hear from you.

It’s Alright Ma,  I’m Only Bleeding”  sounds like a perfect fit on Sat Night Edition to me.  Intelligent lyrics, great energy,  traditional instruments,  and elements of raw folk/rock energy.  I especially like the various textures,  from the stripped down a cappella start,  to the full band with pounding drums and heavily reverbed vocals,  then back to simple folky sections.

I agree.  I’ll see if we can get a copy for the Folk Show.
