Scott Ainslie, who wowed both Acoustic Brew and Folk College crowds and has become one of Folk College’s most revered teaching artists, has a great article published in this month’s Acoustic Guitar magazine about the guitar styles, tunings, and bit about the life of near-mythical blues great Robert Johnson.
Scott is a wonderful performer and teacher, as well being pretty much a walking history of not just the blues, but many forms of music. He is an amazing guitar player, but also a heck of a songwriter, banjo player, even diddley bow… I admit it, Scott is absolutely a hero of mine, and I don’t have too darn many of those any more.
If you have the chance and play, check it out!

ps- I realized in my haste to share this, without having the magazine with me, I don’t actually know what month the issue is—it’s the one with the nice shiny national resonator guitar on the cover… so possibly October 09?
