Anne’s website says she’s been “comforting the afflicted and afflicting the comfortable’ since graduat(ing) high school in 1968,”  and now she’s the one who could use some comforting.  She’s had to cancel a tour to begin treatment for a lung tumor.  You can find more info at her website http://www.annefeeney.com/ and her blog.  If you’re in a position to help her with medical expenses,  you can find a link there, and if you’d like to suggest a song of hers to play on-air during the folk show,  you can respond to this post.  Thanks.

Anne’s “Defenders of Marriage” had been already been running through my head this past week when I heard about her illness.  I’m glad she’s giving her many fans a way to channel their love and concern by helping support her during the long period of treatment and recovery ahead.  I’ll be playing a cut from her new CD “Enchanted Way,” a collection of Irish music, on the Folk Show Saturday during the 3-5 pm segment.
