Three amazing women from three amazing groups come together for an amazing new sound!  That’s Kristin Andreassen (Uncle Earl), Ruth Ungar Merenda (The Mammals), and Aoife O’Donovan (Crooked Still).

Sometymes Why has been described as “a mesmerizing trio of modern-day sirens.”  They are three beautiful people that are pleasing to both the ear and the eye.

Each has their own unique vocal style yet their harmony blend comes together in what seems like the perfect combination.  They weave little vocal parts in and around the lines in a way that enhance the lead and draw attention to the true meaning of the verse.

Their vocals are intense at times.  They know when to whisper, when to scream and when to cry.  Their heart-felt lyrics tell the secret tales of their lives and come across in a way that is honest and up-front.

The interesting arrangements seem sparce times yet somehow the notes not played are louder that ones that are. Their clever musical arrangements along with their passionate lyricism draw right to the heart.

Sometymes Why’s CD “Your Heart is a Glorious Machine” on Signature Sounds is scheduled for official release on March 10, 2009.

I think they would be great for Acoustic Brew.

Given that I like Uncle Earl a lot and Crooked Still, I’d be interexsted in these folks coming to central PA. I guess Ruth Ungar is the Daughter of Molly Mason and Jay Ungar? I think I’ve seen her perform with them.
