It looks like up and coming musician Sara Jarosz among other big folk names will be on Prairie Home Companion the week of Sept 18th. Tune in!

Tune in Saturday afternoon to the Folk Show for a song or two from Sarah.  She’s going to be featured on Austin City Limits as well (Nov 6) and she’ll be touring in the east prior to that .(TN,  NC, NY and MA)

Hey Mel,
Thanks for the word about programming on PHC. Can you be our all media folk watch person? That way we’ll never miss good music where ever it is. Maybe I’ll play one of her songs Saturday morning to get folks ready?

Actually Ben’s the man.  If you’re counting on me,  you’re in trouble!  Jarosz’s CD Song up in her Head has been out well over a year,  and I took a listen just today…  I hadn’t heard of her before Ben tipped us all off,  but I’m really impressed.  Looking forward to listening more closely and adding cuts to my future playlists.  I should mention that I referred to her as a fiddle player on-air today.  Should have said mandolin and banjo,  but it wouldn’t surprise me if she plays fiddle too.  I’m going to miss Prairie Home tonight,  but hope to catch it via podcast….
