NPR again, puts out great product on why we should listen to Charlie Louvin. I know he gets air play on WPsU.

NPR’s Tom Cole remembers the late singer who worked with Elvis, Hank Williams and other legends. Louvin, who died Wednesday at 83, had enjoyed a recent resurgence in the popularity of his music.

One of the most well known and all album covers of all time is from the Louvin Brothers’ “Satan is Real” Album. This album also is one many people believe is the Louvin Brothers’ finest music.

Thanks for the post, Paul.

As a tribute to Charlie Louvin, I’ll be playing his version of “Waiting for a Train” with George Jones, followed by an appropriate gospel number, on my show 01/29 6-8 a.m. This is a very recent recording, hence maybe one of his last.

You’ll be able to hear Charlie Louvin this Sunday (1/30/2011) on the Folk Show, too, sometime between noon and 2 pm.
