I was shocked to hear the news that Alash’s priceless instruments, as well as their costumes and visas, were stolen from a motel in Albuquerque two days ago. Alash performed at the WPSU studios last year for the Acoustic Brew Concert Series, and are scheduled to teach at Folk College next week. You may not really like Tuvan throat singing, but you can’t argue with the great loss that these instruments represent; they are probably irreplaceable.
The band is going to need some help to get their visas replaced, changes of clothes, etc. More information at:
