Rare (and very ! scratchy) recording of 14 yr old Doc Watson

This recording is so scratchy,  you won’t be hearing in on-air during the Folk Show,  but it is a really cool artifact,  and definitely worth checking out.  The guy who recorded it in 1941 reckons it was the first time Doc was ever recorded (and long before he was known as “Doc.”  Doc said he got his first instrument,  a home made banjo, when he was 11,  and this recording show he is already quite accomplished on another instrument, guitar, by the time he was 14.  The spoken intro by the man who recorded it is a little over 1:30.
