I read an article in the NY Times a week or so about a Westchester County fiddler who is described as “one of the world’s top Irish fiddlers.”  We don’t have any CDs of his in the library,  and prob should request some.  Does anybody know his work and can recommend what CDs we should ask for?

Oh wow, yes. He was at Catskills Irish Week - I went last year and also 5 yrs. ago - he made a CD (I haven’t heard it) with Tony DeMarco, who I mentioned a few years ago I’d love to see at the Brew - they are both from the Bronx, a hotbed of Irish music, and are wonderful. They are always at CIW. It would be great if Brian could come to the Brew.

Patty,  let’s run this by the Acoustic Brew board and see what they think about Brian as a solo or duo.  In terms of his CDs for the Folk Show,  if we get them,  would you like to review?  No pressure if you don’t have time…

Thanks for the link Sunseeker.  I’m going to see if Smithsonian will send WPSU a copy for our broadcast library.  I notice the new CD is from an Irish label,  which might be harder to come by.  They do make it quite easy and inexpensive to download, though…
