I’m curious to hear what other folks thought of the concert.  I love the intricate, adventurous arrangements of Creaking Tree,  but I wonder if some people thought they were a little too weird.  I’ve never heard a fiddle player get so many unusual sounds out of that instrument in one concert,  and I’m betting that some very traditional music fans would find what they did strange at the least.
And if you did like the “out there” quality of Creaking Tree,  would you enjoy the much more traditional sounds of Kim Beggs and her songs?  I like the contrast of the much more accessible vocal songs of Beggs with the more challenging instrumentals of Creaking Tree,  but I’m curious if folks who liked one of the acts didn’t care for the other.
Another question:  Since there was no opener,  we had just one break.  My sense is that the audience might be equally divided on how many breaks we should have.  Some folks love the socializing time.  Others want the evening to move along more quickly.

I’m not really a musician (scaring livestock w/ a fiddle doesn’t count) but I thought Creaking Tree was great.  I think a split bill was a good idea, though, with them…  2 hours of them might have been a bit much.  I think they worked great w/ Beggs and thought Beggs was bolstered tremendously by the accompaniment of the fiddle and bass.
