LifeLink
PSU: A Road to Independence is
a story of a unique opportunity for older students with special educational
needs. Ordinarily, these students
would only be able to attend high school and never interface with 18- to 21-year-old
peers. However through a partnership with Penn State these students can spend
their days on a college campus gaining critical life skills with age-appropriate
peers. This Penn State Public Broadcasting production traces the individual
stories of eight students participating in this project, their difficulties,
their triumphs, and their personal growth as they work toward independence. "LifeLink
PSU: A Road to Independence" is a production of Penn State Public Broadcasting,
with partial funding by The Pennsylvania Department of Education, Bureau of
Special Education.
