 I Am Evolution

I Am Evolution
Paleoanthropologist Holly Dunsworth from Penn State University doesn’t need the faith, trust, effort, or strength required to believe in evolution – for her, it just is. Instead, as Dunworth states, she simply "believes evolution." Tune in Sunday, May 11th at 8am to Weekend Edition to listen to Dunworth's essay on belief and evolution.

In Character: Charlie Brown

In Character: Charlie Brown
"Good grief!" NPR's Scott Simon profiles the protagonist of Charles M. Schultz's comic strip Peanuts. Charlie Brown was born in 1950, at a time of cautious optimism about the role of the U.S. on the world stage and about the average guy's day-to-day prospects back in the States. He is often a self-doubting brooder who can't seem to get the little red-haired girl or kick the football, but Charlie Brown does have a secret weapon -- his unapologetic authenticity and honesty.

Hear "In Character" Saturday, May 10th during Weekend Edition.
