Coppola: A Pediatric Surgeon in Iraq

Pediatric surgeon Dr. Chris Coppola regularly treats youngsters at Geisinger’s children’s hospital in Danville and at Geisinger-Gray’s Woods in Centre County. When the former lieutenant colonel in the U.S. Air Force served two tours of duty as a surgeon in a combat hospital in Balad, Iraq, he found himself treating the most helpless victims of war—Iraqi children. He details his experiences in his memoir, Coppola: A Pediatric Surgeon in Iraq.
