Farms and Customers Gather at Centre County CSA Fair
This is the time of year when many Community Supported Agriculture Farms, or “CSA’s” are selling shares for the coming growing seasons. WPSU’s Kristine Allen visited a CSA Fair in State College this week to get the lowdown on this growing practice.

Great Story! I would just like to comment as a former organic certification specialist and current organic farmer, that the USDA National Organic Program Standards do have specific crop rotation standard as well as a pest management practice standard which includes establishment of habitat for beneficial insects/natural predators. I agree that it is still very beneficial for consumers to engage with their farmer and in doing so have the ability to be their own “certifier”, making sure the practices of the farm adhere to their values.
